Each web project runs in a four-phase cycle. In a nutshell, we gather all of the information necessary, put together our design ideas, get approval for one final design, program the site, and publish the site to the host you’ve selected.
Phase I begins at our initial design consultation. It goes on as long as necessary to ensure that we have all of the information we need to begin the design phase your project and ensure the project runs smoothly and quickly. This includes having a completed Project Planner, all necessary written content, any pre-existing graphics (such as logos or banner ads), and the project budget.
NOTE: A cash deposit will be due before beginning work on Phase II.
This phase will mainly be comprised of our forming your ideas (as discussed in meetings and the Project Planning Questionnaire) into a composite of your new site and uploading it to the client area of our website for your viewing pleasure. We will meet and/or talk as often as necessary to ensure that you are happy with the design and that it meets the stated needs of the project.
Once website design is approved by you we will move on to Phase III.
NOTE: This is often the longest portion of the work on a website and can take upwards of 2/3 to 3/4 of the total project time.
This is the home stretch! At this point we will sit down and code your site using XHTML and CSS in conjunction with any other technologies we previously determined to be necessary.
Once this phase is complete, your new website is finished. We’ve only one thing left to do: show it to the world.
NOTE: Final Payment will be due before Phase IV (the publishing of the final site).
Simply stated, this is where your website is published to your web host and is viewable at your URL (www.yourdomain.com). At this point we say your site is “live” and that, as they say, is all she wrote.
Granted this is a rather simple explanation of a not entirely simple process but it is meant to give you a good idea of how we work and how a basic website is built. It isn't intended as a comprehensive outline of your project as sometimes things fall out of place. Keep in mind that, regardless of project flow, we want you to be comfortable, happy, and as involved as you want to be from beginning to the end!
If this is enough information to have you chomping at the bit, download your Project Planning Questionnaire and contact us.
